Our new Commodore, Karl deHam, had this to say about his view of the state of the Club:
GBCA is showing major improvements in financial strength and club popularity. This year represents a great opportunity between GBCA and LYC to make this year's Regata de Amigos a new level of racing adventure for the western gulf. Once again we have a very good Fleet Captain with Kevin Hayes providing alot of hard work on our race program. Also Don Kuggle is doing a lot of work with LYC co-ordinating our partnership on the Regata de Amigos with great results. I would hope we can support his efforts by supplying club members help to this important event. Remember this club needs your help and support to continue as a tool for your racing needs. I will see you on the water.
Our Treasurer, Jorja Lewis, continuing in this position from last year, noted that our operating account cash reserve has increased by about $2600 from last year, mostly due to a 20% increase in club memberships and to Mike Seich's tireless fundraising efforts.
