In 1976 Pedro opened Gianotti Sails in Buenos Aires. The Gianotti loft excelled in design of the 470 dinghy, Soling and Tornado classes, Half and One Tonners, as well IOR and IMS rules. Along with racing sails, Pedro also constructed cruising inventory for many different bluewater yachts. The loft has cuts sails for the tallship A.R.A Libertad, and in 1986 made the sail inventory for the 75 foot schooner Tortuga.
The Gianotti loft has been working with UK Sailmakers since 1987. In this time, Pedro was granted several awards such as the UK Spinnakers Design in 1998 and one of the best Tape Drive Main Designer the following year. His work with UK includes sail repairs for the 1989-90 Whitbread Boats, many 40 to 60 foot IMS designs, and a very strong background in One Design racing. He has designed sails for the Argentinean Navy ("Fortuna2" - Frers design), Ecuadorian Navy ("Alcance" - Frers design), as well as for the Uruguayan Navy ("Bonanza" - Frers design).
Since 2001 the loft moved to Houston, Texas and focused on strengthening the one design racing on a local and national level. Pedro considers one design racing to be very important to the sailing community. UK/Halsey Sailmakers - Houston excels in a wide variety of classes, from J/boats (J/22, J/24, J/90, and J/92s designs), to Solings, Etchells, and various other racing classes throughout North America. Cruising sails from the smallest daysailor to modern ocean cruising yachts are also constructed from start to finish in the full production loft.
As a racer, Pedro has competed in many championships and regattas.
